Sunnah Duas for Healthy Eyesight

1)

Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Bakrah said, that he told his father: “O my father! I hear you supplicating every morning:

Allahumma ‘afini fi badani, Allahumma ‘afini fi sam’i, Allahumma ‘afini fi basari La ilaha illa anta

Translation: O Allah! Grant me health in my body. O Allah! Grant me good hearing. O Allah! Grant me good eyesight. There is no god but You.

You repeat these (words) three times in the morning and three times in the evening. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ making dua with these words, and I like to follow his sunnah.” [Abu Dawud, 5090]

Note: This dua is to be read three times in the morning and three times in the evening.

2)

The following dua is part of a longer dua recorded by Imam Tirmidhi (May Allah have mercy upon him). [Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3502]

Translation: (O Allah) Allow us to enjoy [the faculties] of our hearing, eyesight, and strength for as long as we living and make these [faculties] remain [healthy until death].

Note: This dua can be read whenever a person raises their hands for dua.

3)

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik رضى الله عنه reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or anyone in his family or any of his companions would be affected by ophthalmia/conjunctivitis, he would recite the following dua:

Allahumma matti’ni bi basari waj’alhul waritha minni wa arini fil ‘aduwwi tha-ri wan surni ‘ala man zalamani

Translation: O Allah, grant me the enjoyment of my sight, and let this faculty remain healthy until I pass away. Show me my retribution against my enemies, and assist me against those who have wronged me.

[Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 5, pg. 591-592, hadith #7322]

Note: This dua can also be read whenever a person raises their hands for dua.
