Question:
A hadith has been reported in Virtues of Ramadhan that the Prophet ﷺ has said, “The dua of three people is not rejected: the fasting person at the time of iftaar, second, a just ruler and third, the oppressed.”
An explanation of “the time of iftaar” is being requested. Is it, precisely at the time of iftaar or before iftaar or after iftaar? If it is before iftaar, then at least how many minutes before should the dua begin? Also is raising the hands a requisite for dua or not?
Answer:
The dua at the time of iftaar is done simultaneously with iftaar. Hands are not raised for it.
