Code of Conduct

MBMA follows the creed of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, as articulated in classical texts such as Al-‘Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah by Imam Abu Ja’far al-Tahawi (may Allah have mercy on him).

The premises of Masjid Bilal Muslim Association (MBMA) is open to all Muslims for religious and educational activities.

All attendees are expected to observe the following rules and etiquette when visiting the premises of Masjid Bilal Muslim Association.

These guidelines aim to ensure a peaceful, safe, and respectful environment for everyone.

  1. General Conduct
  • All visitors must uphold Islamic values and refrain from any form of misconduct or criminal behaviour.
  • MBMA premises is open to all brothers and sisters, regardless of ethnicity, background, age, socio-economic status, or school of thought.
  • Any form of racial or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Activities considered un-Islamic are strictly prohibited on the premises.
  • The interpretation of Shari’ah matters shall be carried out by the formally designated Imam, in consultation with qualified Islamic scholars when necessary.
  • Any individual who causes damage to property will be held responsible for covering the full cost of the repairs, along with any additional related expenses.
  • Please avoid arguments or discussions that may cause division.
  • Bringing any weapon (e.g., guns, knives, etc.) is strictly prohibited unless required by law.
  1. Dress Code
  • Both men and women are expected to dress modestly, in accordance with Islamic teachings.
  • Clothing should be non-revealing and cover the body appropriately.
  • Everyone is expected to maintain proper personal hygiene and not have any offensive odour.
  1. Behaviour and Interactions
  • Physical or verbal abuse, threats, acts of aggression, ethnic slurs, derogatory remarks, or any form of disrespect toward staff, management, volunteers, sisters, brothers, or children will not be tolerated.
  • Disruptive or belligerent behaviour that disturbs the peaceful environment of the masjid is strictly prohibited.
  1. Children in the Masjid
  • Children are welcome and encouraged to attend the masjid.
  • To ensure safety and respect for everyone, parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. They must promptly clean up after them in the event of any accidents.
  • Parents are responsible for any damage to property caused by their children.
  • Children should be gently taught proper masjid manners and respect for the prayer area before attending this place of worship with their parents.
  1. Permissions and Announcements
  • All speeches, lessons, study circles, etc. require prior approval from the management.
  • No one may use the microphone, lead salah, call the adhaan, make announcements or deliver khutbahs or classes without authorization.
  • Distribution of flyers, books, banners, or promotional materials is not permitted without management approval.
  • Selling, fundraising, or soliciting of any kind on MBMA property is strictly prohibited unless authorized.
  • Overnight stays are not permitted, except during I‘tikaf or with management approval.
  1. Liability and Compliance
  • MBMA management, staff, and volunteers shall not be held liable for any personal injury, loss, damage, or theft of personal property occurring on the premises. All individuals enter and use the facilities at their own risk.
  • Please cooperate with the management and volunteers to ensure smooth and peaceful operations.
  • Management reserves the right to amend or revoke approvals at any time without prior notice.
  • MBMA administration reserves the right to deny access for any period of time to anyone who violates this Code of Conduct, disturbs the peace, or violates the sanctity of this place of worship. Failure to comply may result in the individual being reported to law enforcement
