    6. On the way to the place of prayer, on the day of Eid al-Fiṭr, we should recite the Takbeer in a low, audible voice. [Surah Al-Baqarah, v. 185]

    اللهُ اَكْبَر اللهُ اَكْبَر، لا إلهَ إلَّا الله، واللهُ اَكْبَر اللهُ اَكْبَر، ولله الحَمْد

Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, La ilaaha illallaahu Wallaahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillaahil hamd.

Trans: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, There is no deity except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.

    1. Eat an odd number of dates [Bukhari, 953]. If dates are not available, then something sweet. [Hashiyatut Tahtawiy pg. 288]

    3. To go to the place of prayer by one route and return via another. [Ibn Majah, 1301]

    Note

If arriving by car, we should try and park our vehicle a little further away, so we can fulfill both Sunnah actions. The more steps a person takes, the more rewarding it will be.

    1. To give Sadaqatul-Fitr before Eid Salah, if not already done so.
    2. To express one’s happiness. [Hashiyatut Tahtawiy pg. 289]
    3. The Sahaabah would greet and congratulate one another with the words:

    تَقَبَّلَ الله ُمِنَّا وَمِنْكُمْ

    Taqab-balal-lahu minnaa wa minkum

Trans: May Allah accept (the worship) from us and from you!

To combine the above words of greeting with Eid Mubarak. [Hashiyatut Tahtawiy pg. 289]
